Z728 — Intrinsically Safe Zener Barrier
The Z728 is a single-channel DC Zener barrier that protects intrinsically safe circuits by preventing unacceptably high energy passing from the safe area into the hazardous area. Zener diodes connected in reverse limit the voltage, while a fuse and series resistor cap the current reaching the field device.
It mounts on a standard 35 mm DIN rail with grounding made directly through the rail, suits analogue and digital signals, and is certified [Ex ia] IIC for use with equipment in Zone Gas 0/1/2.
