IS-WCP — Intrinsically Safe Weatherproof Call Point
The IS-WCP is an intrinsically safe weatherproof manual call point designed for the manual activation of a fire alarm in outdoor and washdown hazardous areas where explosive atmospheres, water and dirt may be present. Based on the KAC WCP1A world-series platform and certified to EN54-11, it provides reliable local indication and must be installed within an intrinsically safe system using suitable I.S. barriers.
Sealed to IP67, the enhanced environmental protection makes it a true outdoor product for demanding external environments. It is operated by breaking the frangible glass — coated to prevent injury and contain fragments — or configured with a resettable element, and includes a 470 Ohm resistor and normally-open contact with the same plug-and-play terminal block for fast installation.
Certified Ex ia T4 for gas Zone 0, 1 and 2 and dust Zone 20, 21 and 22, its high-visibility red enclosure surface-mounts quickly and puts the system into alarm if the lid is removed illegally.
IMPORTANT! This product must be used with an approved Zener Barrier or Galvanic Isolator. All connections into the product must be made via a suitably rated barrier or isolator — never connect it directly to the voltage supply without a barrier in place, as this will cause permanent damage to the PCB and void the warranty. Installation and connection should only be carried out by appropriately competent and qualified personnel.
