TDE EX — ATEX Pneumatic Air Horns
The TDE EX air horns are pneumatic, non-electrical devices powered by a compressed-air supply, ATEX and IECEx certified for hazardous areas. They bring the foghorn output of the TDE range into explosive atmospheres, where a very high sound level and a very low frequency tone are required and conventional electrical horns cannot be used safely.
The range offers three trumpet lengths, and the length dictates the note produced: the TDE198EX sounds at 660Hz, the TDE360EX at 377Hz and the TDE450EX at 307Hz. The lower the frequency, the further the sound carries — so the TDE450EX reaches furthest, while the shorter TDE198EX delivers the highest peak output at 138dB. All three are continuously rated and operate from −30°C to +90°C.
Because they carry no electrical parts, the TDE EX horns need no power supply, no cabling and no electrical infrastructure inside the hazardous area — only clean compressed air.
Typical applications: oil and gas, petrochemical and chemical plants, refineries, offshore, hazardous-area marine.
