FD40 / SD40 — Back Box
Surface-mounting back box for the Clifford & Snell FD40 and SD40 signalling range. It raises the unit off the mounting surface and provides the space needed for cabling and terminations. Beacon heads and sounders are ordered separately from the back boxes, so a matching box must accompany every head to form a complete, mountable unit.
Four heights are available, each supporting a different build: the Single Back Box takes 1 beacon; the Double Back Box takes 2 beacons, or 1 beacon and 1 sounder; the Triple Back Box takes 3 beacons, or 2 beacons and 1 sounder; and the Quadruple Back Box takes 4 beacons, or 3 beacons and 1 sounder.
Every box is 91.5 mm square and 81.5 mm deep, and stacks in 91.5 mm increments: 91.5 mm for the Single, 183 mm for the Double, 274.5 mm for the Triple and 366 mm for the Quadruple. Weights run from 0.054 kg to 0.236 kg. Each is moulded in flame-retardant ABS in White (RAL 9003) or Red (RAL 3001), with stainless steel external fixings. Mount to a flat wall or bulkhead, or to a conduit box for single units, using the internal fixing points and the mounting gaskets supplied; fit a suitably rated cable gland to maintain the IP65 rating.
